All the people I talk to at the passport office call centre are Irish.
They're perfectly lovely and all that but it is a bit odd they are all micks.

I think it depends how you feel about yourself, It's a stunning place to visit, I spent most of my summers there as a kid so I've a lot of great memories from there. You could say I'm half Irish I suppose but I don't feel it at all.
Whenever I go over I don't think "it's great to be home!" I still feel like a tourist which is how every Irishman I met would view me!
saying I'm half English half Irish would make me cringe!

It's a strange one in England if you have parent that is Irish you don't really hear people get called an English Irishman but other diasporas you do so you get British Pakistanis or German Turks or Irish Americans but strange how English people that have Irish blood just get called English when really they're not.

Bloody hell, it's beginning to look like it might be me. Both parents from Killester, just outside Dublin on the Howth Road.
